HOW TO GET OUT OF A SLUMP

Ever feel off your game? Or like you have no motivation?  Congratulations that means you’re normal and chances are you are just in a slump. It happens to everyone whether it be with the gym, at work, or in your personal life. Don’t worry though it’s only temporary and there are lots of things you can do to get through this low period a little faster.

First off..
DON’T STRESS ABOUT IT!
It doesn’t matter who you are NO ONE can be 100 % all the time. We have highs and lows and that is totally normal so don’t beat yourself up about it because you will overcome this slump faster if you stay positive. It will take a time and patients, so just keep pushing.
TAKE A STEP BACK!
There is nothing wrong with taking a personal day or vacation to figure your stuff out! If you need space or time to think about things then take it! An extra day off or a trip somewhere can really help you reset and refresh yourself, which brings me to my next tip;

CHOCOLATE OAT CAKE RECIPE

Have you ever wished you could have chocolate for breakfast? Well now you can with my Chocolate Oat Cake recipe!
This is definitely not the first time I have said this but I am a chocoholic and these are a big craving killer for me, plus they are nutritious. This cake is packed with iron, high in calcium, and loaded with antioxidants from the cacao. This chocolatey treat is also brain boosting AND fat burning from the coconut oil!
So when it comes to healthy snacks this brain booster really takes the cake!
You can make them in the oven or microwave! I usually use the oven now since I don’t have a microwave but mug cakes like this were my thing back in college! It takes 3 minutes and you have a cake! The recipe is the same either way and here it is:

HEALTHIFIED APPLE CRISP

Lately, I’ve been CRAVING apple crisp but I haven’t been able to find a recipe I could get behind.
That’s why I just created my own that’s super easy to make! I’ll make a big batch on Sundays and eat it in the mornings before I go to work.
YES I eat apple crisp for breakfast but it’s extremely healthy and filling!
You can definitely eat this in the morning because this recipe is:
·Easy digestible ·High protein ·Free of processed sugars ·Gluten free ·High fiber ·Vegan ·Free of processed ingredients ·DELICIOUS




RECIPE
Note: To aid digestion this recipe uses soaked oats, nuts, and seeds. To read about how to soak and the importance of it check out this ARTICLE.
Ingredients
Base: ·5-6 apples ·¼ c maple syrup ·½ tsp coconut oil ·½ tsp natural vanilla or ¼ tsp vanilla bean paste ·1 tsp apple cider vinegar ·½ tsp cinnamon (I always use Cha’s cinnamon, I don’t have a discount but I highly recommend it!) ·Dash of nutmeg and salt.

Why Everyone Should Soak their Oats and How to Do it!

You like to lay back and have a soak, so do your oats. And your belly will thank you for it!Oats, particularly the steel cut, have blown up lately. Some people see them as super food well others say to stay away. Part of this split is because oats can be hard on the digestive tract much like any seed!
Seeds are meant to be hard to break down so they can survive and be grown into new plants so they block digestive enzymes with phytic acid. This acid can also bind to minerals and prevent their absorption as well!
Does This Mean I should Avoid Oats?
No! In my opinion, oats can be a great source of nutrients. Oats are an antioxidant that is also a good source of protein, fiber, and carbs, well also containing a large amount of vitamins and minerals like iron and magnesium.
So instead of omitting them we can simply give them an acid soak to make them more digestible! 
The process of acid soaking overnight releases phytase which will breakdown the phytic acid!

When I was little one of my sister and I loved to bake cookies! I can still hear the sound of my mom yelling at us to “to get our fingers out of the cookies dough!” but I just couldn’t help myself.

TIPS AND TRICKS FOR MAKING SALAD DRESSING

I tend to eat a lot of salads and I am not going to lie I am a big salad dressing fan! It’s not a salad without dressing, but these days dressing has a really bad rep. And I totally get why. Lots of store bought dressings are loaded with sugars and processed ingredients. That’s why I opt to make my own. It’s really simple, healthier, and much cheaper! It all starts with picking the right ingredients. Starting with the oil. 
Oils:
Olive Oil: Olive oil is my go to oil for making salad dressings! It’s a monounsaturated fat which is a healthy fat. It’s also good for your heart because it can help lower LDL (bad cholesterol levels). Some other healthy alternatives include:

I think it’s safe to say we have all had a time when we have been unhappy with our skin. For me that was 2 years ago. I started getting breakouts on my legs even though I had never had problems with my skin before. I almost had acne on the back of my thighs and bottom of my butt.
