Have you ever wished you could have chocolate for breakfast? Well now
you can with my Chocolate Oat Cake recipe!
This is definitely not the first
time I have said this but I am a chocoholic and these are a big craving killer
for me, plus they are nutritious. This cake is packed with iron, high in calcium,
and loaded with antioxidants from the cacao. This chocolatey treat is also
brain boosting AND fat burning from
the coconut oil!
So when it comes to healthy snacks this brain booster really takes the
cake!
You can make them in the oven or
microwave! I usually use the oven now since I don’t have a microwave but mug
cakes like this were my thing back in college! It takes 3 minutes and you have
a cake!
The recipe is the same either way
and here it is:
Chocolate Oat Cake:
-2 tbsp organic cacao ( I always use Avazera brand)
-2 tbsp organic quick oats
-1 tbsp coconut flour
-1 tsp coconut milk (canned (I am a Cha's organics user!)
-2 tsp water
-2 tsp coconut oil
-¼ tsp baking powder
-¼ tsp sea salt
-1 tsp honey
-1 tsp vanilla
1: Preheat oven to 350.
2: In a medium bowl mix cacao,
quick oats, coconut flour, baking powder, and sea salt.
3: In a separate bowl mix the
coconut oil, vanilla, and honey. Then mix in the coconut milk gradually, followed
by the water. When your wet ingredients are mixed mix them with the dry
ingredients.
4: When fully mixed pour into a
lightly greased baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes.
Note: If you are in a rush you can microwave it for 3-5 minutes instead
in a large coffee mug!
TIP: can make a
super easy icing by mixing ½ coconut oil, ½ maple syrup or honey, and a tsp of
Cacao!
